*Getting the ‘all clear’ after your treatment isn’t the end of the story. Follow-up is extremely important for all cancer survivors and as a young person you should attend follow-up care for many years, although local clinics organise things differently from each other. You may never experience any long-term effects of your treatment but the following pages describe some of the things your doctors will check for.

Follow-up appointments will become less and less frequent after your treatment has finished until you are only attending annual consultations with a doctor, or in some cases a specialist nurse.
