Dan Reeve & Rob Aitkin
Dan Reeve & Rob Aitkin

Release Date: 15 August 2007

Dan Reeve and Rob Aitkin began their incredible Deca-Ironman challenge with a 24-mile swim in Dover Harbour on 13 August 2007 .

The swim was originally planned for the English Channel, however bad weather meant the pair had to settle for the harbour to stay on schedule. They endured difficult conditions with strong winds, bitterly cold temperatures, and painful shoulder injuries. However with the help of their supporters cheering them on, Dan completed the swim after over 15 hours in the water. Rob achieved 18 miles and will complete the remaining 6 miles later in the week.

Personal trainer Dan and his friend Rob are undertaking the gruelling triathlon in memory of Dan’s brother Tim, who sadly lost his battle with leukaemia in 2005. Their impressive efforts are raising vital funds for Leukaemia Research and will include cycling for 1120 miles and a 262-mile run. They aim to finish the Deca-Ironman challenge in Paris in time for the Rugby World Cup on 14 September.
