*Winchester man aiming for record number of wins in international sailing race

A Winchester man who beat blood cancer is hoping to go one step away from a competition record with an incredible third victory at the 77th annual ‘Round the Island Race’ on 28 June. Not only is he aiming for first place again at this 55-mile international sailing event round the Isle of Wight, he is also looking to raise a fantastic £50,000 for leading blood cancer charity Leukaemia Research in the process.

Emmerdale’s Tony Audenshaw (aka Bob Hope) today officially launches ‘Tarzan’s Bananathon’, an urban marathon with a difference to take place on 13 September in Greater Manchester in aid of blood cancer charity Leukaemia Research.

Sir Ian Botham today announces that he is dusting down his trainers and setting off in October 2008 on another legendary fundraising walk. For the first time members of the public will be able to join Beefy as he walks to help blood cancer charity Leukaemia Research beat childhood leukaemia.

Tony Audenshaw, who plays the loveable Bob Hope in TV's Emmerdale, is encouraging people to sign up to run in this year's 'Bananaman Chase' on Sunday 22 June at Kempton Park in Surrey. The event, in support of leading blood cancer charity Leukaemia Research, will see runners aiming to overtake as many 'top bananas' as they can as they run around the flat, traffic-free track at Kempton Park.
