|  | Team Andy Stewart is made up of family and friends of Andy Stewart who tragically lost his life, aged 15, to Leukaemia, only 12 days after being diagnosed, in May 2006.
Andy touched the nation when a BBC documentary filmed Andy in hospital and he spoke about his fear of facing death at a young age. Andy’s bravery touched so many people.
Team Andy Stewart, formed shortly after Andy's death (initially by members of Dunfermline Carnegie Hockey Club, of which he was a first team player) received recognition at Pedal For Scotland 2007 from Leukaemia Research by being awarded the David Carmichael Memorial Quaich.

Leukaemia Research have been the Charity Partners for this event for the past 2 years raising an amazing £256,000 for our research in Scotland.
The current fundraising total as at 9th October for the 2008 event is £70,411.03.

Everyone in Team Andy Stewart who have taken part in Pedal for Scotland over the last 3 years have raised money in memory of Andy (a young brave guy whose life was shortened by leukaemia and whose family and friends want to keep his memory alive). The Team have helped, not only by raising much needed funds for our vital research, but also in raising awareness of how leukaemia can destroy lives.
