Rod Stewart

Release Date: 26th January 2006

Rod Stewart fans will be flocking from all over the world to Ribby Hall Village for the fifth annual Rod Stewart Convention, which this year is supporting Leukaemia Research, the UK’ s leading blood cancer charity.

Fans from as far a field as the United States, Norway and Holland will be heading to the holiday village near Blackpool on 3rd March 2006, to party with other enthusiasts and special guests Don Stewart and Mary Cady, Rod’s brother and sister.

Last year’s convention raised over £8,000 for it’s chosen charity and event organiser Ian Roberts is hoping for an even bigger charity total this time around.

“We decided to support Leukaemia Research this year, as they are a charity which do so much good work to work towards curing terrible blood cancers,” says Ian. “It looks as though this year is going to be bigger than ever, so hopefully we can raise a big total for a worthy cause.”

The convention takes place over three nights from 3-5th March and features tribute bands, a large video screen showing Rod Stewart concerts and videos, a raffle of memorabilia donated by Rod and other entertainment, making it a must for Rod devotees.

“For the final night, we have got big party planned. Six non-stop hours of Rod songs will be played and all guests are invited to dress up using one of Rod’s songs as a theme, with prizes for the most creative outfits!” adds Ian.

Over 350 fans are expected to be over heading to Ribby Hall for the event, and limited tickets are available, priced at £12 for one day, £22 for two and £30 for all three days. For more information or to book call 0161 7956726, visit www.rodstewartchronicle.com or email rschronicle@fsmail.net
