About the children’s party

Family at Euro Disney

Every year we send a group of children with leukaemia and their families on a special trip to Disneyland Paris.

Tony Rizzo, hairdresser and owner of Sanrizz Salons, is the man behind the Children’s Party. Sadly his son, Valentino, died of leukaemia aged 3 years old in 1983. Tony was determined to help stop this deadly disease and so, together with friends and supporters in the hair industry, created the Alternative Hair Show .

The Alternative Hair Show, now in its 25th year, is a celebration of the world’s top hairdressers and is a chance for them to unleash their wild side and create funky and original looks, which are then showcased in catwalk-style. The show is an essential event for the hair industry and over the years some of the biggest names in the industry have got involved with Alternative Hair: Vidal Sassoon is the patron, Joshua Galvin is the vice-president and Anthony Mascolo is the president.

Money raised from the Alternative Hair Show, now at a staggering £6 million, funds research into blood cancers and also pays for this trip to Disneyland Paris.

We are delighted that Oracle are supporting the Children’s Party this year.
