Leukaemia Research scientists have demonstrated, for the first time, how the latest DNA sequencing technology can be used to identify genes involved in blood cell development. This will help researchers develop more effective treatments for leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

Scientists have for the first time been able to personalise treatment for leukaemia patients using a test that accurately predicts relapse. A UK study, funded by charity Leukaemia Research and published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, shows that individualising treatment reduces relapse rates by half.
