Running Nurse-Led Clinics
Nurses working in haematology clinics are increasingly looking at nurse-led initiatives to improve the care and management of patients. Efficiency & Excellence in Cancer Care
This all health professionals conference is focused on implementing NHS reform to deliver a high quality patient-led service. Nurse managers working with haematology patients over regional areas may be interested in presentations in the management of cancer services to support seamless patient pathways. EBMT UK Nurses NAP Group
One of three meetings featured this year for specialist nurses to improve the care of patients undergoing haematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Some interesting presentations include allografting patients in endstage renal failure – a case report; the role of dietitians in haematology; and a programme which captures children’s experiences in bone marrow transplant.

RCN Cancer Care 2007: Together against cancer
This is the 13th annual cancer care conference from the Royal College of Nursing. This year the programme focuses on the collaboration between cancer health care professionals. Topics which may interest haematology nurses are evaluated outcomes of collaborative thinking between the voluntary sector and the NHS; the NHS End of Life Care Programme – preferred place of care. Also speaker Jane Lovell, CNS in haematology from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, will give a presentation about the implementation of a nurse led for patients with MGUS (Monoclonal Gammopathy of Unknown Significance).
