| | Release Date: 22 May 2007
It was another big day for our Banana Army team on Sunday 20 May 2007, as fundraising runners and triathletes turned out for two key sporting events.
Scores of our runners turned out to help make the UK’s biggest 10K race, the BUPA Great Manchester Run, a big success.
Over 350 of our yellow-clad athletes completed the course on Sunday 20 May 2007, raising an impressive £150,000 for our research projects across the UK.
Among the runners were some famous faces: Chris Chittell and Matthew Wolfenden from ITV1 soap Emmerdale, and Jason Merrells from Cutting It who were pounding the pavements of Manchester as part of the TVTimes and Asics-sponsored celebrity running team.
Also taking on an athletic challenge on the same Sunday were members of our triathlon team, who participated in the Eton Supersprint triathlon at the picturesque Dorney Lake in Berkshire.
The event attracted a number of first-time triathletes, as well as experienced competitors going for personal best times.
Many thanks to all our Banana Army team for their efforts!
