CLLSA is an exciting new charity formed in August 2005 by a group of four CLL patients who initially made contact over the internet. The main aim of CLLSA is to provide help and support for patients with CLL (and similar related conditions) and their carers. As a new charity we are not yet registered with the Charity Commission but we have an application in progress and hope to have our own registered charity number very soon.
Initially we aim to provide:
> A contact list of Consultants in the UK who specialize in CLL > A comprehensive list of useful websites and sources of information on CLL. > Latest news and developments in CLL. > Regular patient meetings.
UK CLL Forum in their words - The UK Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia Forum has been created specifically for the patients, families, friends and carers of those diagnosed with CLL within the United Kingdom. Granny Barb and Art's Leukemia Links - CLL - GrannyBarb and Art are two leukaemia patients (one could never describe them as passive sufferers) who together have created and maintain a superb leukaemia information resource.
Sadly, Barbara Lackritz (GrannyBarb) died in June 2003. She was a wonderful inspiration to patients everywhere and an indefatigible campaigner. Despite having an exceptionally aggressive form of the disease, she lived her life to the full for 15 years after her diagnosis. She will be missed deeply by all who had the privilege to meet her, and by many others who knew her only through the web.
CLL Research Consortium - The CLL Research Consortium is a multi-institution research program sponsored by the National Cancer Institute to study chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) in an entirely new way.
