Banana Army Runners' Stories

Our very own ‘Bananaman Chase 10k’ takes place annually in London and Milton Keynes.
The event involves chasing ten ‘top bananas’ who are people with first hand experience of blood cancers. Each top banana runs at a different speed so no-one need feel intimidated!
Hazel Staten, who has had a bone marrow transplant and set up a voluntary Branch of Leukaemia Research in Milton Keynes, took part in the event as ‘banana number 10’.
"There was an overwhelming feeling of friendship amongst the crowd. I owe my life to Leukaemia Reseach, without them I wouldn’t be able to run around as a banana!"
