The 2008 Cheshire Bikeathon will be taking place on Sunday 11 May.
The Bikeathon takes place in the beautiful surroundings of Delamere Forest in Delamere. The park is a shady oasis in the midst of the agricultural landscape of the Cheshire Plain. It is Cheshire's largest area of woodland and is a place for families to let off steam, escape the crowds and find peace in the heart of the forest.
Delamere Forest Park is also a haven for wildlife including the beautiful Small Tortoiseshell Butterfly, Greater Spotted Woodpecker, White Faced Darter dragonfly, Green Woodpecker, Siskin and Southern Hawker dragonfly.
The park is ideal for cycling. Smooth sandy tracks with only a few gentle hills provide an ideal surface. Mature Scots pine, wetland and Blakemere provide the ideal setting for an afternoon's family cycle ride.
The route around the forest is seven miles in length, but you can cycle the route as many times as you wish. If you have ridden before, you will shorty be receiving an entry form for the event. If you would like to take part for first time and get your friends and family involved, please contact us.
If you have already registered you can set up an online fundraising page via Justgiving here
