TV star Mark Furze is backing Leukaemia Research as he takes on ITV1’s talent contest ‘Soapstar Superstar’.
‘Home and Away’ heartthrob Mark Furze has chosen Leukaemia Research to benefit from his attempt to win TV’s ‘Soapstar Superstar’, and you can help him raise as much money as possible simply by picking up the phone and voting him your favourite celebrity singer. The longer he stays in the competition the more money Leukaemia Research receives. You can help keep him in the competition by voting for him on 09011 33 33 08.
Mark, who plays Ric Dalby in the Australian soap, will be competing against 10 other soap actors in the talent contest, which will starts on Friday 5 January 2006 and runs every night with a live show until 13 January. He decided to support Leukaemia Research after his friend was diagnosed with blood cancer.
He said: "I never really thought about leukaemia until it affected me so closely - my friend was diagnosed and it shocked me because it came so out of the blue. It makes you realise it can affect anyone at any time of their life, young or old, and it made me aware that so many people globally are suffering from it."
So tune in to ITV1 on Friday at 8.30pm to see if Mark can hit the high notes – and raise a big total to help the fight against leukaemia and other blood cancers.
